Career Technical Education students from the Renton School District can advance their careers with a new scholarship. The $6,000 Career Launch Scholarship will help students cover tuition, tools, books, or other classroom materials at Renton Technical College.
Students and parents can learn more at Career Launch Family Night on March 6 at 6 p.m. Dinner and childcare will be provided. Interested students can register now.
Career Launch Scholarship applications will be accepted from March 6 to April 18.
To qualify for the scholarship:
- Student must have taken CTE coursework. This includes dual credit courses.
- Open to RSD high school seniors only.
- Student must start using the scholarship and enroll at RTC before the end of the calendar year. For example, a student who is awarded spring 2025, must enroll at RTC before Dec. 31, 2025. This includes starting summer, fall, or winter quarter.
- No financial criteria required. Scholarships are reviewed and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. There are currently 25 scholarships available.
- Student must apply via the RTC Foundation’s simple online scholarship platform which includes a recommendation from an RSD instructor or counselor. This is in a survey format and is embedded in the application.
Washington needs 600,000 credentialed workers by 2032 to meet the job-growth demand. These are high-paying jobs in the skilled trades, healthcare, and technology.
