Proposed Student Conduct Code and Hearing Procedures
Renton Technical College has made revisions to its Student Conduct Code and Hearing Procedures as an emergency rule filing and is currently in the process of adopting the changes as a permanent rule. The revisions are in response to the Department of Education adopting new Title IX regulations earlier this year. The state community and technical colleges’ Assistant Attorney Generals have been assisting the Washington State Student Services Commission members to ensure that the codes and hearing procedures are compliant with federal Title IX regulations and in alignment with recommendations by the Assistant Attorney General’s office.
A public hearing regarding the permanent rule changes was held on October 23, 2024. No comments were submitted prior to or given during the hearing. The RTC Board of Trustees will vote to approve the rule changes at their November 20 regular meeting.
You can view the full filing document here to view the changes.
