Library Services to Students with Disabilities
Renton Technical College Library makes every reasonable effort to provide all students,
including those with disabilities, with access to its collections and service.
Building Access
Campus Map
RTC Library is the entire second floor of the TRC building in the southeast corner
of campus. The main doors to both the building and the library have power assist door
openers. There are both stairs and a wheelchair-accessible elevator to the second
floor.
Restrooms
All Technology Resource Center restrooms are wheelchair accessible. The restrooms
closest to the library are located next to the elevators outside the library doors.
Equipment
RTC Library offers the following assistive resources to its students.
- Computers with assistive software. Please see the list below.
- Magnifying Glass. Available at the circulation desk.
- Closed caption televisions.
- Off-campus reference help through QuestionPoint.
Assistance
If a patron needs special assistance they should go to the Front Desk and request
assistance.
If a patron has a disability that requires special assistance that cannot be met by the staff or collections, he/she will be referred to the RTC Special Needs Counselor at (425) 235-5840 for personalized help.

Washington Talking Book & Braille Library
This site offers information about the Talking Book & Braille Library, plus information
on who is eligible and how they can obtain services. Also included are links to other
state and national agencies that offer services to the disabled.
InfoEyes
Online reference help for the visually impaired. This is partially staffed by Washington
Talking Book & Braille Library librarians. You can get help online, or request help
by email.
RTC Assistance Students with Disabilities
ADA Accommodations
The college is dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations for students needing
