When culinary student Sandra Hebert had a tight budget month, the Foundation provided gas cards through the emergency grant program so she could get to school. 

Sandra is the 2019 Les Dames d’Escoffier and Foundation scholarship recipient. Only three colleges in the state have the prestigious Les Dames endowments to support women in the culinary arts.

“Sandra shone as a natural leader,” said Lisa Nakamura, scholarship chair for Les Dames. Sandra’s instructors agree she is highly respected and praise her as a mentor and natural leader to her fellow students in the kitchen.

Sandra is rebuilding her life with her children after experiencing domestic violence. At RTC she is realizing her dream to earn a college degree, and to someday open her own southern-styled catering business. All those who know her expect her to achieve great things.
